The Juneteenth Celebration will take place on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, marking the first time this event will grace Downtown Redding. Juneteenth holds significant historical importance, commemorating the June 19, 1865 announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas, and the subsequent emancipation of enslaved African Americans. It’s a day dedicated to honoring Black freedom and recognizing their invaluable contributions to our nation. As a community, we aim to pay tribute to this national holiday of liberation!
